DeKalb County Hosts Back-to-School Giveaway Event with Free Bookbags and Food Distribution

DEKALB COUNTY, GA - The Dekalb County School District (DCSD) and DeKalb County Government will host a Back to School Giveaway on Saturday, August 3, 2024. This event will distribute 3,000 clear bookbags filled with school supplies and 5,000 boxes of food. The bookbags will include a pack of 12 pencils, 12 pens, 24 crayons, three erasers, a ruler, a composition notebook, a three-subject notebook, notebook filler paper, a flash drive, and a calculator. Food boxes will contain locally-grown fruits and vegetables, eggs, and chicken hindquarters​.

The giveaway will begin at 9 a.m. at multiple locations, including the Dekalb County faith-based organizations listed below.
